Roses of Spoonbills
Pickup currently not available
Description
A personal project that, from afar appears to be a branch of flowers but when closer-up is revealed to be a tangle of roseate spoonbill birds. It is oil paint on MDF board and the composition was made by layering images of spoonbills on top an existing image of a magnolia branch in photoshop. Its distinct pink colouring was achieved not just through ‘permanent rose’ oil paint but also a bright red underpainting which compliments the dark turquoise in a striking display.
Dimensions: 50x50cm
